Setting up Shifts at your Property allows you to track activity at your Front Desk (revenue exchange) for the different "shifts" during the day. Typically a property has 3 - "A", "B", and "C" for morning, afternoon, and evening. This is part of the required configuration for Skyware Systems and is initially performed at installation for you. You may however edit the configuration to suit your Property at any time if you have the appropriate access/authorization.
This selection is part of the Property and System Configuration area of Skyware.
Select Manager's Screen to be taken to the MANAGER'S COMMANDS screen.
Select Configuration to be taken to the PROPERTY AND SYSTEM CONFIGURATION screen.
Alternately, you may also be able to select Configuration directly from the Quick Menu, if the menu has been set up to include the Configuration option.
This will take you to The Property System Configuration Menu.
The list of property configuration options are divided into four sections, which are Required Configuration, Optional Configuration, Locales/Dates and Sub-Systems.
Select Shifts from the Required Configuration section.
The Shift Setup screen display is split into two frames, with the left side of the screen listing any already configured Shifts for the property and the right side containing the fields you need to complete in order to add or edit a Shift for the property. Any changes made on the right, once saved, will be updated in the listings to the left. Enter the different shifts at your property.
The currently configured options can be displayed by:
List Order: List order, a numeric ordering.
Shift Code: The Shift Code assigned to a particular Shift.
Shift Name: The name of the Shift (For example, morning, afternoon, night; or first, second, third).
Selecting any Shift will display the details on the right.
Your options include the following:
Generate a new entry:
Click the New button from the toolbar to add a new Shift.
Complete the fields described below.
OR:
Select an existing Shift from the list on the left, and click the Replicate button from the toolbar. Then change the field information as described below.
Edit the current selection:
Change the field information described below.
Note: When generating a new entry, all fields will be available for editing. When editing a current Shift, the Shift Code field will not be accessible. This is to ensure that there is always a minimum of three shift options available to your property in Skyware Systems.
Shift Code: The Code assigned to the Shift.
This field is required.
List Order: This determines in what order the Shift appears listed in the interface.
Enter a number into the List Order field.
This field is optional.
Shift Name: The name assigned to a particular Shift at your Property.
This field is required.
When you are finished adding or editing Shifts, click the Save button to save the changes.
To view any changes made, click the Activity log button in the local tool bar.
