Postings

Postings are the charges (or refunds) assigned to a Stay at your Property. Postings may automatically be assigned (such as room charges or taxes) or may be performed from the Posting Screen and Statement screen. The Posting Screen and Statement screen allows you to view all of the charges that have been posted to the guest's account and to post new charges. It also allows you to make a posting correction or adjustment and to transfer postings or balances to other folios.

Note: You will select the Department and Post Type of the item you are posting. The post type is what type of charge it is - room, local phone, restaurant, etc.  These post types are set up by your Property and are categorized under departments, which group the post types together with similar functions so that the long lists of individual post types can be organized. See Property and System Configuration Overview for further details.

The Post to Folio command provides access to the Posting Screen and Statement screen, which allows you to post to a Guest Folio.

You can also click the Postings button (Posting (coin) button) while viewing a Stay or Folio to open the Posting Screen and Statement screen.

 

Note: It IS also possible to manually post POS charges to a stay using a different screen, the Manually Enter Restaurant Charges screen, which allows the entry of POS receipts (with room or site number, check number and amount fields) quickly. The posted charges are attached to the guest's stay, and may subsequently be viewed on the Posting Screen and Statement screen. However, using this screen to post charges does not allow you to select the posting TYPE, meaning that the posted charges will appear as however the default posting type to the room has been set up as, and is intended for use only if your property uses our POS module but does not utilize an external interface for this function, or if the interface is temporarily not working.
