Point of Sale (POS) Maintenance - Configuration Overview

The Point of Sale (POS) Maintenance area contains commands that allow you to configure and edit the items configured for the food and beverage service areas of the property.

Select Point of Sale (POS) from the Configuration area of the Manager's Screen.

If you are looking for the Restaurant Staff commands for the POS Point of Sale (POS)system (see Main Point of Sale (POS) menu - Overview), select Point of Sale (POS) from the Other section of the Full Menu.

Point of Sale (POS) Maintenance area commands are divided into two sections:

Restaurants and Menu Items Setup.

NOTE: Because each configuration item relies on other configurations being completed first, when configuring thePoint of Sale (POS) system, you should begin by performing each configuration item in the order they appear on the screen: Restaurant commands (left side) top to bottom, then Menu Items Setup commands, top to bottom. You can always go back and add or edit configurations if necessary after the initial setup.

The Restaurant commands are where you configure the options that coincide with the physical aspects of the restaurant, and include the following:

The Menu Items Setup commands are where you configure the actual food options being offered to and ordered by customers (see Configure Menu Items for POS - General), and include the following:

IMPORTANT: The configuration you perform and the options you add in the Point of Sale (POS)Maintenance area of Skyware Systemsdetermines the options available in the Point of Sale (POS)restaurant staff interface.

Take your time in considering how to enter items for configuration, to be sure you are providing the most appropriate options for the restaurants or other food/beverage sales points in your property.

In addition, you may want to ask restaurant staff to work with the system, creating mock-restaurant checks that mimic typical entries. This will help you identify any shortcomings in the configuration before going live with the new Point of Sale (POS).
